AaC Firearms CCW Course Details - Administrative Notes
Class generally runs from 08:00 to 17:00, please arrive between 07:30 and 7:45 for registration so the class can start promptly
This course is based on the NRA Basic Pistol Safety Course to include the Missouri CCW requirements listed below

Cost: $100.00 (Groups of 5 or more, $80.00 each person) One free seat to an active military service member per class.
Deposit: $80.00
Semi-auto Rental: $10.00 per person (.45cal, 9mm or .22cal available) Ammo NOT included.
Revolver Rental: $10.00 per person (.22cal available) Ammo NOT included.

All classes include instruction from U.S. Army Drill Sergeants and/or St. Louis City Police Officers!
All classes include instruction with a laser simulator prior to the live fire exercise!


Missouri Concealed Carry Permit Qualification (CCW Course)
Missouri Revised Statutes, Section 571.111.1 (Firearms Training Requirements)
The State of Missouri allows for a certificate of firearms safety training course completion to be issued to any applicant by any qualified firearms safety instructor. On the certificate of course completion the qualified firearms safety instructor shall affirm that the individual receiving instruction has taken and passed a firearms safety course of at least eight hours in length taught by the instructor that included:
(1) Handgun safety in the classroom, at home, on the firing range and while carrying the firearm;
(2) A physical demonstration performed by the applicant that demonstrated his or her ability to safely load and unload a revolver and a semiautomatic pistol and demonstrated his or her marksmanship with both;
(3) The basic principles of marksmanship;
(4) Care and cleaning of concealable firearms;
(5) Safe storage of firearms at home;
(6) The requirements of this state for obtaining a certificate of qualification for a concealed carry endorsement from the sheriff of the individual's county of residence and a concealed carry endorsement issued by the department of revenue;
(7) The laws relating to firearms as prescribed in chapter 571, RSMo;
(8) The laws relating to the justifiable use of force as prescribed in chapter 563, RSMo;
(9) A live firing exercise of sufficient duration for each applicant to fire either a revolver or a semiautomatic pistol, from a standing position or its equivalent, a minimum of 20 rounds from the handgun at a distance of seven yards from a B-27 silhouette target or an equivalent target;
(10) A live-fire test administered to the applicant while the instructor was present of 20 rounds from either a revolver or a semiautomatic pistol from a standing position or its equivalent at a distance from a B-27 silhouette target, or an equivalent target, of seven yards.

A qualified firearms safety instructor shall not give a grade of passing to an applicant for a concealed carry endorsement who:
(1) Does not follow the orders of the qualified firearms instructor or cognizant range officer; or
(2) Handles a firearm in a manner that, in the judgment of the qualified firearm safety instructor, poses a danger to the applicant or to others; or
(3) During the live fire testing portion of the course fails to hit the silhouette portion of the targets with at least 15 rounds.


CCW Course Administrative Notes

  1. No Ammunition is permitted in the classroom!  All ammunition, including boxed ammunition, ammunition in magazines/speed loaders.  All ammunition should be stored in a secure portion of a vehicle.  Do no enter the classroom with ammunition!
  2. A student with a physical condition potentially affecting their safety, or the safety of others, during live exercises (fainting, dizziness, medication causing drowsiness, etc) must inform the instructors.  All information will be held strictly confidential and is requested for your safety and the safety of others.
  3. No alcohol, tobacco or other drugs (prescription or non-prescription) are permitted on the premises.
  4. All participants must keep their firearm’s muzzle pointed in a safe direction at all times.

Required Items for Class

  1. Properly executed Release Waiver Agreement (bottom of the application form)
  2. Course registration form, Course payment (cash or check payable to James Lagermann)
  3. Valid form of government identification (passport, driver license, military ID)
  4. Pen, pencil, highlighter & notepad
  5. Sack lunch & snacks

Required Items for the Range

  1. Pistol, semi-automatic action (with functional magazine), or revolver action, well maintained and fully operational, stored in case, box or pistol rug.
  2. Ear protection
  3. Eye protection (clear, wrap around, ballistic safety glasses that meet ANSI Z87.1 or higher (stamped on temple).  Prescription glasses may be used if shatterproof (polycarbonate) with side shields.
  4. At least 40 rounds of ammunition: New in manufacturer’s box – No Reloads!
  5. Hat, baseball style with bill to deflect ejected brass, must be worn on range
  6. Appropriate clothing – consistent with prevailing weather conditions.  Range will be partially indoor.  Range exercises will be conducted in inclement weather unless a safety hazard exists.
  7. Pistol cleaning kit: cleaning supplies – bring cleaning equipment for your firearm(s).
